Abstract:

An improved discrete-time domain two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) current control for shunt active power filters (SAPF) is proposed in this work. The proposed 2DOF controller allows a multi-objective design in which set-point tracking performance and disturbance rejection are considered. Both control objectives are achieved by means of tuning separately two single parameters. The proposed SAPF control approach has been evaluated in simulations and in an experimental set-up based on a 17.5 kVA voltage-source converter acting as SAPF. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SAPF control.
