Abstract:

Induction heating has evolved in recent years towards flexible cooking surfaces with multiple control possibilities. This paper reviews the series resonant multi-inverter topology as a versatile and cost-effective solution for multi-load induction heating systems and analyzes pulse density modulated control strategies with a special focus on the EMC behavior. The main control strategies are explained and the main experimental results are presented using a 9-load 3.6 kW inverter.
