Abstract:

The work aims to leverage event triggered controller for power converters to achieve better performance and to improve overall efficiency of the system. It presents a control implementation scheme which is event based and can be applied to nonlinear systems with a stabilizing feedback. In this scheme, the control input signal is held constant, not periodically, but while the performance is satisfactory. In this paper, an existing classical Sliding Mode Control (SMC), which regulates a Buck converter, is made event-triggered to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Complete analysis is done to prove the feasibility of the technique for practical application and simulations have been carried out to support the theoretical claims.
