Abstract:

In order to test the renewable energy grid-connect converters, a grid simulator is in need which is able to simulate grid transition such as voltage sags, unbalanced voltages, flicker and low-order harmonics. The main concern of this paper is on the harmonics generation. A compound control strategy is proposed on the basis of three-phase inverter to generate precise controllable required voltage harmonics. The execution of this control strategy based on direct-quadrature (dq) rotating frame keeps the precise control of harmonic amplitude without adverse influence on dynamic and stability performance of fundamental voltage control. Theoretical analysis of the controller are offered and the design method of controller parameter is presented in detail as well. The simulation model of harmonic generation inverter with proposed control strategy is built based on Matlab/Simulink and gained simulation results under various conditions verify the validity of the proposed control strategy.
