Abstract:

This paper introduces a new PWM method applicable to inverter power factor correction (PFC) of non-isolated on-board charger (OBC). Understand the causes of electromagnetic interference (EMI) common-mode (CM) leakage current and battery isolation diagnosis problems that arise when OBC is configured as a non-isolated converter circuit, and find out why inverter PFC is suitable for non-isolated OBC. It is confirmed that it is possible to solve CM leakage current and battery isolation diagnosis problems by applying the proposed PWM method to inverter PFC. The effectiveness of the proposed PWM method is verified through the experimental results based on a prototype circuit.
