Abstract:

European Earth Observation (EO) solutions, powered by Copernicus, and building on R&D activities, are delivering significant benefits across a wide range of sectors. Yet, scaling up their impact and turning them into viable, market-ready products and services, requires the organisations developing them to have steady access to knowledge, markets, capital and technology. To address this need, e-shape - an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project, is establishing a comprehensive portfolio of tools that can facilitate access to these resources and foster the upscaling of EO solutions through the novel “Sustainability Booster” as well as through a host of complementary e-shape activities. This paper provides an overview of the different components being developed with the aim of allowing EO solution providers and users alike to make the most of the transformative power of EO, for the benefit of our economies, environment, and society.
