Abstract:

In cycle sports typified by bicycle road race, how to use the muscles during a pedaling motion is important to achieve higher performance, but it is difficult to understand one's own muscle activities. In this study, we proposed an surface EMG signal processing method for a real-time display that can easily understand muscle activity during a pedaling motion. We confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method using EMG data recorded form three subjects, during pedaling exercise for 3 minutes. As a result of evaluating by the error reduction ratio of the proposed method for the conventional method, the average value of all subjects was 77.4%.
