Abstract:

DstriSimJ is framework, written in Java, which allows the user to build modular simulators and to deploy them on multiple machines in order to take advantage of their cumulated computation power. The framework is focused mainly on the functional part of the simulation and it offers only a limited support for building graphical user interfaces which have no impact on the simulation itself. While this is perfect when interacting with real machines, the main goal of DistriSimJ, sometimes a human operator must at least monitor if not even interact with the simulator. Since DistriSimJ was built with modularity in mind it was easy to create a component which runs separately from the simulation core and can interact with a human operator via a GUI while allowing for a great level of customization. This paper presents the GUI component for DistriSimJ.
