Abstract:

The article is devoted to the development and research of the thyristor voltage and power regulator (TVPR). The TVPR is a device for power flows control and voltage regulation in 6–20 kV networks. The operation principle of the TVPR is based on the positive or negative EMF introduction into the power transmission line with the combined use of longitudinal (amplitude change) and transverse (phase change) voltage regulation. A description of the TVPR physical model connected to the electrical network section with a source and load is given. The results of the longitudinal and transverse regulation modules operation research are presented. Voltage harmonic components injected by the TVPR into the electrical network have been estimated. The studies have confirmed the TVPR declared functions and the operability of its functioning algorithms.
