Abstract:

The paper reports a novel sub-1V CMOS domino dynamic logic circuit using a direct bootstrap (DB) technique for low-voltage CMOS VLSI. From a 1V 8-bit CMOS Manchester carry look-ahead (MCLA) circuit designed in a 0.18 /spl mu/m CMOS technology, the one using the domino dynamic logic circuit with the DB technique shows a 1.42 times improvement in the speed performance as compared to the one without the DB technique. Even for a supply voltage of 0.8V, the domino dynamic logic circuit with the DB technique is still advantageous.
