Abstract:

In this work a CMOS implementation of an extended state-controlled CNN cell is presented. The cell introduced enhances the capability of CNNs of generating chaotic and complex dynamics, while keeping the cell structure as simple as possible, towards the aim of realizing a programmable generator of complex dynamics. In particular, highly nonlinear systems, which contain for example multivariable nonlinearities, are generated by exploiting simple PWL blocks. The implementation has been successfully validated through simulations in the Cadence environment with the SPECTRE simulator.
