Abstract:

We propose a novel routing protocol, termed "multihop hello guided routing-reactive (MHGR-R)". This protocol has been developed based on the original MHGR, which is a proactive routing protocol. In MHGR-R, each node, which has data packets to send or receive as the source or destination, periodically diffuses hello messages to the entire MANET using the flooding protocol. The preliminary simulation results shows that MHGR-R outperforms AODV and OLSR in terms of packet delivery ratio at the cost of packet delivery time.
