Abstract:

An AC-coupled direct-conversion receiver (DCR) has been designed for GPS. To overcome the effects of dc-offset noise, the receiver employs a first-order high pass filter (HPF) with a corner frequency of 60kHz. The distortion caused by the HPF can be effectively compensated by appropriately processing in the digital back-end. The digital compensation approach has been verified with experimental data. The mixer and the baseband stages of the GPS receiver have been fabricated in a 0.35/spl mu/m CMOS process. The power consumption is 10mW drawing from a 2.5V power supply.
