Abstract:
This paper presents a new temperature compensation generator (T.C.G.), which is added to a conventional bandgap reference circuit to improve the temperature drift within wider temperature range. The proposed circuit, which operates under the voltages for portable applications, for example 2.5V/spl sim/5V, has good performances of the line regulation and the temperature coefficient. The proposed circuit is designed by 0.35/spl mu/m CMOS technology with Vthn=0.80V and |Vthp|=1.0V. The output reference voltage obtained is 500.48/spl plusmn/0.061 mV at 27/spl deg/C. A temperature coefficient of 1.4 ppm//spl deg/C from -40/spl deg/C to 140/spl deg/C and a line regulation of 0.17mV/V within 2.5V/spl sim/5.0V supply voltage can be achieved. In addition, the proposed circuit can operate down to a 1.8-V supply.
