Abstract:
A low power, low voltage rail-to-rail operational amplifier (opamp) was designed in a conventional 0.18mum CMOS process for implantable biomedical applications. The rail-to-rail constant gm input stage of the opamp utilizes both a native NMOS differential pair and a normal NMOS differential pair. Both differential pairs are operated in the subthreshold region. The gm variations in the overall input stage are within plusmn27 % and plusmn10 % for a supply voltage of 0.9 V and 1.0 V, respectively. The power dissipation of the entire opamp is 2.4 muW for a 0.9 V supply
