Abstract:

The work proposed an inductorless divider using ring oscillator topology to save chip area and enhance the locking range. The topology uses two techniques to enhance the transconductance (g m ) for increasing locking range. To validate the proposed circuit, the chip was fabricated using TSMC 90nm CMOS technology. The core circuit only occupies an area of 70.3 ·80.15μm 2 . Measurement shows the input frequency sweeps from 22GHz to 37GHz and results in a 15GHz locking range.
