Abstract:
In the 4 G wireless networks, different types of mobile communication systems such as wireless local area networks (WLANs) and cellular networks will be integrated. The 4 G wireless heterogeneous (WHN) networks will support a broad range of multimedia services with guaranteed quality of service. In order to support this requirement, new call admission control and resource reservation techniques are needed to support the integrated architecture in the 4 G of mobile communications. In this paper, we present and evaluate a new predictive CAC and RR technique that can support the 4 G WHN. This technique is based on an efficient multidimensional sequence mining technique called MobilePrefixSpan which is designed for the mobile environment. MobilePrefixSpan is a modified version of the well-known sequence mining technique PrefixSpan and its modified version for multidimensional sequences. Simulation study shows that the new technique has excellent performance which is comparable to the benchmark scheme.
