Abstract:

The development of novel receptor materials for chemical sensors would trigger a breakthrough in the field of odor/gas sensing. To encourage more researchers to start R&Ds on this subject, useful peripheral tools and sensor devices should be available. For this purpose, piezoresistive Membrane-type Surface-stress Sensors (MSS) and a dedicated signal readout module to examine self-prepared chips in an experimental electronic nose system have been developed. These are expected to allow for the researchers to save time on the setup and to concentrate on the pure material explorations instead.
