Abstract:
Modern wireless communication systems use Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) because of its advantages such as high data rate. In OFDM systems, the ratio of peak to average power is high and this is a major disadvantage for OFDM systems. The clipping is one of the methods that reduces the peak to average power ratio (PAPR), but has some problems such as bit error rate (BER) performance degradation and low power spectral efficiency. In this paper, we use clipping for PAPR reduction, but after clipping, we send subtraction of original data and clipped data, as extra data, so we prevent loss of BER but we reduce data rate. We use compressive sensing technique to reduce the size of extra data because the extra data are sparse.
