Abstract:
The rural areas in India need emerging technologies to empower the villagers. Secondary access to TV White Space (TVWS) is considered as a promising solution to provide wireless broadband service in rural India. Globally, regulations for secondary access to TV White Space have been standardized. However, in India, the research is in genesis. In this paper, we discuss the implementation scenario of wireless broadband service through TV White Space in rural India. We also propose a simple approach for estimating the power of transmission for wireless broadband service. The proposed approach would prevent infraction of interference limit in desired TV reception. The performance of the proposed approach has been compared against Monte Carlo Simulations.
