Abstract:

The research presents an investigation on effect of hybrid carbon nanotubes (CNT) and copper as radiating element of the proposed array antenna. The 4×2 array antenna is designed by using a single layer of FR-4 as the substrate with transmission line of quarter-wavelength transformer. This type of antenna design has the ability to enhance gain, reflection coefficient, diversity and efficiency due to their electrical properties. In this study, the performance results of antenna with and without CNT as radiating element are analyzed. The antenna performance with CNT capable to boost the gain up to 11.04 dB with reflection coefficient of -21.12 dB as well as 80.88 % efficiency at operating frequency of 2.6 GHz. With all capabilities declaration, the proposed array antenna is highly recommended to be deployed for long term evolution (LTE) application.
