Abstract:

This paper studies a new interweave cognitive radio (CR) transmission scheme with energy harvesting (EH)-enabled transmitting node and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) secondary users. Both primary and secondary networks scavenge energy from a power beacon base station (PBS), where an out-band operation mode is considered between the PBS and two networks. Independent and not necessarily identically distributed general κ - μ shadowed distributions are considered to evaluate the performance of the new interweave CR-NOMA network. Moreover, the proposed system model is compared with the traditional multiple access technique, where the former model shows better performance than the latter one. Finally, the derived analytical expressions are corroborated through Monte Carlo simulations.
