Abstract:

In this paper we elaborate on a principle, Minimum Conditional Description Length (MCDL) [1], by which the parameters for cliques contained within a subset Λ as well as cliques connecting Λ to its boundary ∂Λ are estimated by minimizing the number of bits required to encode xΛ conditioned on x∂Λ.
