Abstract:

M-health is a new paradimg that includes several disciplines such as mobile computing and medical sensors dedicated for healthcare services. The quick progress of these disciplines of mobile computing systems and the new means of communication have revolutionized the deal in many areas and are now raising great hopes in the field of health and especially for persons with reduced mobility. Such persons require specific care and material such as electrical wheelchairs. These systems have remained too conventional and have not taken full advantage of technological and scientific progress. Many of them are hard to command and accidents are too frequent especially for highly disabled persons. To provide safe driving conditions, we propose a new cloud based wheelchair assist system to support impaired persons. In this paper, we propose firstly a novel human machine interface developed on an embedded mobile SoC to efficiently control a wheelchair. Secondly, we project an Android based mobile application to remotely monitor handicapped. This control via internet connectivity is ensured through a multimedia 3D interface developed on an Android mobile smartphone.
