Abstract:
In this paper we analyze the performance of a CoAP proxy with layered architecture and a built-in cache. The proxy acts as the gateway connected to the sensor nodes through an IEEE 802.15.4 low data rate wireless personal area network (LR WPAN). We investigate the impact of various traffic and proxy parameters on the performance of the proxy, in particular the interplay of the data validity interval defined through the CoAP Max-Age parameter.
