Abstract:

Underground wireless sensor networks (UWSN) has significantly improved the efficiency of environmental monitoring. In WSN, various parameters can be monitored and measured such as strain, vibration, temperature, humidity, noise, etc. Then, to detect any strain damage, we must apply accelerometers and strain sensors. WMHM should be capable to provide any information concerning vibration occurring in tunnels mines. Thus, our objectives are to detect and predict vibrations damages in mines. WSN present a solution for strain damage applications. In this paper, we present a survey of optical fiber sensors that can be applied to detect damages in underground mining. Indeed, we highlight the significance of SOFO, Fabry-Perot, Mach-Zehnder and FBG sensors when we aim to monitor strain variation. Moreover, we propose to detect and prevent strain vibration using DLV “Damage locating Vector” algorithms.
