Abstract:
WSNs are used in many application fields thanks to their low cost and ease of deployment. They are generally used to control hostile and inaccessible areas. Thus, they require a QoS support. This paper presents a routing protocol, called Delay and energy efficient proactive routing protocol for event-driven WSNs (DEEP). The later is a hierarchical solution that uses a shortest path routing tree and a clustering algorithm to perform aggregation. This protocol aims to create a trade-off between the minimization of the end-to-end delay and the energy consumption as QoS metrics. The simulation shows good results in terms of average delay, energy consumption, and packet delivery rate.
