Abstract:

When speech is transmitted over non reliable channel, encryption techniques are needed to secure the communication. BSS-based speech encryption aims to encrypt speech signal by linearly combining it with secret key signal. In the current framework, we discuss the robustness of the speech encryption technique based on blind source separation. Human person have a capability to decipher the content of the speech signal even in the presence of a large amount of noise. In the current study, we show that it is possible to extract an intelligible version from BSS based encrypted speech using modified speech denoising scheme. Such study, allow us to adjust the key signal in order to divert the noise estimation algorithms. A first set of experimental results shows the effectiveness of the denoising attack. A second set shows the validity of the proposed method to reinforce the security of transmitting encrypted signal.
