Abstract:

In this paper, a miniaturized 2-D pass-band frequency selective surfaces (FSS) operating at 3.5 GHz resonant frequency has been presented. Compared to the operating wavelength in free space, the size of the proposed miniaturized element FSS (MEFSS) dimensions are <; λ0/8. Simulations results ensure that the designed array of 5×5 MEFSS can provide a first-order pass-band filter response with a wide bandwidth of 2.3 GHz. Moreover, this structure can demonstrate excellent resonance stability for both different polarization (Transverse Electric (TE), Transverse Magnetic (TM) mode) and different incident angles up to 45°.
