Abstract:
In this paper, we investigate an adaptable construction of CRC codes to strike a flexible balance on different levels of noise resilience and information length. Our novel idea is to develop a CRC code with several “gears” that are easily switchable in both directions. We search for admissible CRC polynomials that fulfil this “gear construction” while having error performance properties close to the optimal ones. These polynomials are then compared against the ones in 5G New Radio for enhanced Polar decoding.
