Abstract:

To take the advantage of computing resource of edge server, the end-users must pay the service charge for task processing. However, the transmission delay plays an important role in communication-computation of edge computing. To address this, we aim to leverage reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) in mobile edge computing (MEC). In this letter, we propose an offloading policy to maximize the revenue of edge server while satisfying the end-user’s goal of minimizing both the latency and cost based on the price by edge server. We provide an insight on required computing resources at the edge server for delay-sensitive task processing.
