Abstract:

In this letter, we investigate the energy efficiency (EE) maximization problem by jointly optimizing energy harvesting (EH)-ratio and beamwidth selection in EH millimeter wave systems at high signal-to-noise-ratio. Using fractional programming features of the problem, an iterative EH-ratio and beamwidth selection algorithm is developed. The complexity of the proposed algorithm is analyzed and the parameters that affect EE are also investigated.
