Abstract:
Concept of wireless channel emulator (WCE) has recently been introduced to emulate a wireless channel in a site-specific scenario. However, the performance evaluation of communication links is typically evaluated using the standard channel model. This letter introduces the parameter mapping technique to map the site-specific fading characteristic into the standard Rician channel, allowing performance evaluation of non-standard site-specific channel via the standard Rician channel. Through simulation in the office at sub-6 GHz, the mapped Rician reproduced coherence time and bandwidth similar to those of the site-specific channel, indicating the ability to synthesize site-specific fading up to the second-order moment statistic.
