Abstract:
Additive manufacturing, or three-dimensional (3-D) printing as it is better known, has taken the world by storm since it was first introduced over 30 years ago. Every month, we learn of the new possibilities and potential of this phenomena, which is being hailed as the third industrial revolution by some. However, such a game changer also brings with it a fair share of challenges that concern intellectual property (IP) right holders and the manufacturers of original products.
