Abstract:
Approaching this broad and timely topic has called for a variety of contributions pertaining to ongoing technical developments, practical applications and use cases, user studies and evaluations, standardization efforts, and next-generation technologies in the two fields of advanced interaction and virtual/augmented reality. The overall theme has been split into two parts, the first focused mostly on human-machine interaction and appeared in the March 2018 issue of IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine. This second part deals with novel applications of virtual and augmented reality.
