Backup is a key process which helps prevent data loss in case of data corruption due to hardware or software faults, malware attacks or user errors. However, the cost for resources used for backup must be taken into account and optimized. This study presents the incremental backup tool called JBBackup based on jump-based file chunking and deduplication with the previous backup version. Key feature of the proposed tool is the efficient volume of backup data stored.
