Abstract:
In this paper, a dual-band frequency-reconfigurable flexible metamaterial absorber is proposed for wearable applications at microwave regime. The textile absorber unit cell is composed of a modified configuration of the Split-Ring Resonator (SRR) and is printed on a grounded textile substrate and is integrated with a tuning varactor. Numerical full-wave simulations are carried out in order to investigate the absorption capability from this flexible absorber when in bending and non-bending configurations. Based on the numerical studies, the proposed absorber structure exhibits and maintains a dual absorption above 60%. Moreover, the absorber maintains its reconfigurability of dual absorption for various capacitance values under bending and non-bending scenarios.
