Abstract:

This paper proposes a magnetic assembly method for constructing hepatic lobule like channel network using magnetic hydrogel fibers. For constructing hepatic lobule like vascular network in cellular structure, we consider two things. First, we should make a magnetic system that can construct hepatic lobule structure. To realize three veins in the structure, we use steel rods and magnetic fibers. For this, a magnetic tweezer with seven poles is designed based on simulation results in 3D. The tweezer magnetize the steel rods and the rods attracts the fibers with high magnetic fields. Second, biocompatible condition should be established to make a 3D tissue. For this, we culture rat liver cells in fibrin gel with channel network for seven days. Then, we perform viability test of cells inside fibrin gel. Finally, we construct multi-layered vascular network embedding rat liver cells.
