Abstract:
We discovered that vesicles with hierarchical structure, multilamellar vesicles, are formed spontaneously in an aqueous solution of an organic solvent by the addition of an antagonistic salt, of which range of size are from 1 nm to 10 μm. In the present study, we investigated the influence of ionic substance (PPh4Cl) for the stability of the vesicles. Experimental results have indicated that multilamellar structure of vesicle was destroyed due to the addition of PPh4Cl and alternative structure was formed. We expect that the experimental results provide fundamental understandings on the stability of multilamellar vesicles.
