Abstract:
One of the potential purposes for superconductivity after its discovery in 1911 was the generation of high magnetic fields. For high-field superconducting magnets, the development of superconducting cables carrying currents of the order of kilo-amperes is crucial. Notably, applications such as high-energy physics, nuclear fusion, and energy storage are pushing high temperature superconductor (HTS) technology to extend its limits.
