Abstract:
Reducing the effect of directional interference and noise added to speech signals, can be accomplished using a robust system in a form of microphone arrays. In this paper, we propose a first-order differential microphone array whose beam can be steered towards the desired speaker’s location. Moreover, undesired sources of speech and interferences can be suppressed. Thus, the beam steering is expected to result in better SNR. For an automatic steering of the beam, the location of the desired speaker should be tracked precisely. Such location can be estimated by a speaker tracking approach, embedded in the design of the microphone array.
