Abstract:

We propose a new concept of high-capacity WDM transmitter with 8-wavelength laser sources, 8 semiconductor optical amplifiers, and 128 x 112-Gb/s PAM4 micro-ring modulators, potentially a bandwidth of up to 12.8 Tb/s within the footprint of 8 mm2 by suppressing SOA-induced nonlinearities.
