Abstract:
The paper deals with analytical and numerical approaches to estimate the dynamic losses of a Non-Oriented Grain (NOG) Electrical steel grade M400, typically used in the manufacturing of laminated magnetic cores for electrical machines. The different approaches are applied either to the sinusoidal or to the non-sinusoidal case. Measurements in 1-d using an Epstein frame in quasi static or dynamic sinusoidal excitation are used to identify the model parameters. Experimental data in case of multi-harmonic excitation are compared to the predicted values. A general agreement is found.
