Abstract:
Simulation of end-users' movement is an essential part of wireless network models that may highly affect conclusions derived from conducted experiments. This paper presents most commonly used mobility models and a custom made framework IISMotion for users' movement simulation in a real-world-like environment. Proposed Cuda accelerated Python framework mainly based on the OpenStreetMap database (OSMnx package) and the world's largest Open Database of cell towers OpenCelliD was created to simplify the process of wireless network simulation with users' movement included. It gives developers an ability to freely modify/extend the implementation based on a given task. Numerical results show that IISMotion has the characteristics similar to the commonly used random walk model thus can be considered as a suitable replacement with an additional functionality.
