Abstract:
This paper presents a low-ripple voltage-controlled charge pump regulator intended to feed internal blocks in a chip to guarantee regular operation when the power supply voltage drops below some predefined value. The circuit was implemented using an array of voltage doublers with a regulation system improved by a voltage controlled oscillator in the feedback path and a voltage ripple minimization technique. The circuit size is 0.556 mm/sup 2/ when fabricated in a 0.25 /spl mu/m CMOS technology and can supply loads consuming up to 8 mA from a 1.6 V to 2.3 V power supply.
