Abstract:
The resilience of distributed information systems has become a greater necessity as a support for both critical infrastructure and everyday use. This work focuses on ensuring the continued resilience of these systems through inspiration from resilient biological processes. In particular, the embryonic developmental processes are modelled and an architecture for self-healing cloud computing PaaS is developed in its likeness. This architecture is resilient through a purely distributed nature and autonomic attributes of self-healing and self-organisation.
