Abstract:

An investigation of meat recognition and freshness monitoring performance of a heater-temperature-modul-ated metal oxide semiconductor (H-TeM MOS) type gas sensor is provided. The heater-temperature modulation changes a single MOS sensor’s response to that of a sensor array, enabling a physically simple and low-cost e-nose system. Evaluation results including linear discriminant analysis features and partial least square regression results proved that the signals from a H-TeM MOS sensor can distinguish the both different meat categories and their freshness during the entire storing time.
