Abstract:

Vehicle lane-level localization is a fundamental and key technology in the autonomous driving on structuring road. Structuring road can be divided into two categories: marked road and non-marked road. Nowadays, most of the vehicle localization methods are based on lane line marking, but vehicle localization based on a non-marking road is the key to achieving autonomous driving. This paper proposes a novel method based on stereo cameras, which combines particle filter to locate the vehicle and make the vehicle navigation on the region with disappeared lane line marking. The experimental results have shown that the system can real-timely work well.
