Abstract:
The effects of passive and active learning classes are investigated in a basic mathematics training for electrical engineering. The characteristics are considered from the viewpoint of the teacher. The level of understanding of all of the students and the degree of difficulty of the problems of coursework can be checked in real time. However, some contrivance is needed to move the students, such as use of the blackboard by students. Also, the setting of coursework problems is important for the active learning style. On the other hand, the opinions from the viewpoint of the students are categorized by using the network visualization. The results indicate that the students believed the active learning style is useful, while they showed the tendency to like the conventional passive learning style. The feelings of accomplishment at the end of the class are varied in the active-learning-recommended students.
