Abstract:

In order to reduce the aviation emission and noise pollution in the terminal area, in this paper, we considered constraints including obstacles, restricted areas, and flight performance, and used the minimization of the impact of aviation air and noise pollution as the optimization goal. We established a terminal arrival route optimization model for emission and noise abatement, designed a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with an elite strategy, and performed case verification by using actual operation data of the Shanghai terminal area. The calculation results showed that, by using the optimized terminal arrival routes, the emissions of NOX, HC, and CO were reduced by 31.4%, 29.5%, and 30.2%The population affected by noise over 65 dB from terminal arrival routes decreased from 444,200 to 227,000, a decrease of 48.7%. At the same time, the total fuel consumption were decreased by 31.4%. Therefore, the optimization model effectively reduced the impact of terminal aircraft operation on the environment.
